At Ethnologue, we believe that language information should be accessible to those who need it most. To support this mission, individuals in low- and middle-income countries as defined by the World Bank may be eligible to receive a free Essentials subscription.
Many of the communities we serve rely on Ethnologue for research, education, and language preservation. We are committed to providing this free access especially to support academic users (such as students, teachers, and researchers), nonprofit organizations (particularly those focused on education, humanitarian aid, or community development), and speakers of minority languages who desire to strengthen their communities.
To ensure that free access is provided to those who truly need it, we now require a quick application process to verify eligibility.
