Ethnologue Access for Learning & Advocacy
Equipping those who serve, study, and speak the world’s less-recognized languages
We believe language information should be accessible to those who need it most. As part of this commitment, we offer free or significantly discounted subscriptions to qualifying individuals.
This program aims to support those engaged in research, education, and language development. Some examples of users who may qualify include:
- Academic users such as students, teachers, and researchers
- Nonprofit workers, particularly those focused on education, humanitarian aid, or community development
- Speakers of minority languages working to strengthen their communities
Many of the people we serve rely on Ethnologue for critical language data. To ensure this support reaches those who need it most, this free or discounted access is generally available to users who live in low- and middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank). However, others may be eligible as well—such as members of minority language communities in higher-income regions.
If you believe you qualify, click below to complete a brief application. Your submission will be reviewed by a member of our team, and we’ll follow up as soon as possible.
Note: We’ve updated our systems that provide free and discounted access. If you have already been receiving free access under this program and would like to continue, you will need to complete this application to verify your continued eligibility.
